Given a self-adjoint operator H0, a self-adjoint trace class operator V and a fixed Hilbert-Schmidt operator F with trivial kernel and co-kernel, using limiting absorption principle an explicit set of full Lebesgue measure Λ(H0, F) ⊂ R is defined, such that for all points of this set the wave and the scattering matrices can be defined unambiguously. Many well-known properties of the wave and sc...

We prove new criteria of stability of the absolutely continuous spectrum of one-dimensional Schrödinger operators under slowly decaying perturbations. As applications, we show that the absolutely continuous spectrum of the free and periodic Schrödinger operators is preserved under perturbations by all potentials V (x) satisfying...

Equivalence up to a Rank One Perturbation

This note is devoted to the spectral analysis of rank one perturbations of unitary and self-adjoint operators. We study the following question: given two cyclic (i.e., having simple spectrum) operators A and B, when is A equivalent to B up to a rank one perturbation? More precisely, when does there exist a unitary operator U such that rank (UAU∗−B) = 1? As usual, we are looking for an answer in...

On the absence of absolutely continuous spectra for Schrödinger operators on radial tree graphs

The subject of the paper are Schrödinger operators on tree graphs which are radial having the branching number bn at all the vertices at the distance tn from the root. We consider a family of coupling conditions at the vertices characterized by (bn− 1)+4 real parameters. We prove that if the graph is sparse so that there is a subsequence of {tn+1 − tn} growing to infinity, in the absence of the...

Abstract. We prove several new results on the absolutely continuous spectra of perturbed one-dimensional Stark operators. First, we find new classes of perturbations, characterized mainly by smoothness conditions, which preserve purely absolutely continuous spectrum. Then we establish stability of the absolutely continuous spectrum in more general situations, where imbedded singular spectrum ma...
